A Day In Florence With BAG SUPREME

There’s no denying, Florence is the historical, cultural, and art capital of Tuscany. And despite having been here for a full semester, vespa-ing up and down the Arno, it feels like there’s so much more to see. Today, like the rest, will be a whirlwind.

We start the day at Cafe Rivoire where I’d like to say we sipped our cappuccinos and savored the world-famous chocolates, but, in the parlance of our times, we hoovered them before running for our before-hours private tour of Museo del Bargello for our continued studies in form + sculpture. We grab a notebook and take notes and sketch as we tour the incredible collection of 15th century pieces like Apollo and Bacchus

A quick lunch in the piazza before heading down the Arno for an afternoon of drawing. Good thing I was able to fit pens, ink, pencils, and watercolor, and plenty of spare sketch pads.

We have down time, which I’ll use to hop on a Vespa and jet off to the original Santa Maria Novella to pick up perfume for some friends back home, and also to see the space -- we’ve heard it’s incredible. Thankfully I can fit everything so I don’t need to cart a million shopping bags before heading to . . .

A group dinner at Piazza della Signoria, where we’ll finally relax and savor in the magic of where the fine European aesthetic really began.

As we reflect on the most magical day, we can’t help but wonder what Michaelangelo would have packed in his BAG SUPREME

Grazie for a great day!
